My father worked in this business before I was born. So I guess you can say I have been dependent on this industry from day one. While I worked with my father a little as a youngster I started working in this industry in 1976. I worked for two years in the asphalt business but I wanted to try something different, so I went to work for the city in which I was born. I worked there for nine years. I again wanted to try something different so in 1987 I went out and started back in the asphalt business. I decided to get my contractors license in 1991.
